Shortly after moving back from the East Coast to Wisconsin in 2010, I played Sweeney Todd at the Muse Theatre in La Crosse, Wisconsin. It was a fabulous experience. Vickie and Don Elwood have dedicated much of their lives to providing opportunities for local actors to get onstage and hone their craft. I am grateful to them for the opportunity to bring this musical theatre piece to life, after all those years of singing high opera. This scene is a great scene, and probably one of the best-known numbers from the show. Emily Bourland was fantastic to work with. I don’t know what she is doing now, but whatever it is, I am sure she is doing it well.
